As part of a historic reform agenda, Nasa Ige has pledged that if elected President, he will nominate a female Prime Minister—the first commitment of its kind in the history of Somalia—signaling a decisive break with exclusionary politics and a firm belief in merit-based, inclusive governance. He places special emphasis on youth and women, recognizing them as central to peace, economic renewal, and long-term national resilience.

Nasa Ige is a seasoned public servant, policy expert, and community leader with extensive experience across government, international development, and multicultural leadership. He has served on numerous community and government boards in Australia, including as a Victorian Government Advisor on the Regional Advisory Council (RAC) of the Victoria Multicultural Commission (VMC), and as elected Chairperson of the Australian African Community, advocating for diaspora communities at state and national levels.

In Somalia, he has held senior executive roles, including Advisor for International Relations and Programme Coordinator to the President of the Federal Republic of Somalia, as well as Special Advisor to the Prime Minister, working on foreign policy coordination, strategic programs, and international partnerships.

Professionally, he brings extensive field experience and a proven record across the government, community, and private sectors. His expertise spans foreign policy, global security, sustainable development, climate change, disaster risk reduction, gender, and Small Island Developing States (SIDS). He is skilled in intergovernmental negotiation, strategic policy development, leadership, program management, communication, and critical analysis.
